Recharge Yourself

We are living in an ocean of energy. Energy is pervasive and has a tendency to affect every facet of our life. Specifically, energy has an effect which is similar to what gasoline has to a car’s engine. The more gasoline the car has, the further it can go. Likewise, you would be also able to achieve more if you have more energy. Pranic Healing works on utilizing this invisible bio-energy or vital energy for healing. It is also possible likewise to use Pranic Healing principles for giving yourself a tremendous energy boost to be able to achieve more through the day.

Give Yourself an Energy Boost

The Basic Pranic Healing workshop introduces techniques including Physical Recharging and Mental Recharging as two techniques which have an ability to increase workplace productivity. Using physical recharging one can quickly remove tiredness, while mental recharging can alleviate fatigue that comes from long hours at work and thereby are extremely helpful in rejuvenating oneself. There are several other Self-Healing and Preventive-Healing techniques (such as general sweeping, emotional regulation, dietary recommendations, special physical exercises, the use of salt as an energetic cleansing agent and numerous other techniques) which can together provide solutions to fatigue and low-productivity. Additionally, other niggling problems such as aches, pains, fatigue and headaches can be quickly alleviated using Pranic Healing.

This is what Nilesh Sinha (a software engineer from Bangalore) has to say about how the teachings helped him while he was in college studying for his engineering degree: “Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga emerged as a wonderful tool to help me increase my concentration, stamina and ability to grasp my lessons faster, and to retain what I had learned. I was able to study continuously for hours without feeling fatigued. The mental and physical recharging techniques were extremely helpful in rejuvenating myself. Headaches and heaviness of head, that used to be frequent during examinations, were healed in a jiffy.”

Learning to Breathe Properly

Breathing correctly plays a very important part in Pranic Healing. Breathing correct is one of the ways to increase the supply of Prana through the entire body. Prana is life energy which keeps the body healthy and increases vitality, and is to the body what gasoline is to the car. Unfortunately, most of us do not breathe properly. The natural way to breathe is what is called abdominal breathing. If you doubt this, then watch an infant sleep in the crib. You will notice that as the child breathes in and out the abdomen moves in and out slowly and rhythmically. Instead adults often practice diaphragmatic breathing. Breathing properly increases the ability of the body to draw in and assimilate tremendous amount of Prana.

Breathing properly is also stressed in several ancient esoteric traditions such as Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and others. Consider for example, many traditional statues of the Lord Buddha, which portray him with a soft, round, protruding belly. While this may look contradictory by modern standards of fitness, but this does not mean that the Lord Buddha was unhealthy. The statues symbolize a man who knows how to breath properly, and in doing so can generate tremendous amounts of energy to improve his personal health and further spiritual pursuits.

Within Pranic Healing there are several practices to do with proper breathing and breath control. One of the most important techniques is Pranic Breathing which is a high-energizing technique that utilizes the principles of rhythm, a specific breathing count, and retention (or the holding of the breath in the lungs for specific duration). Pranic Breathing as a technique allows practitioners to draw in large quantities of Prana to boost their own energy levels, vitality, and get more done.

Increased Vitality

In addition to self-healing techniques, Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga together introduce several meditation techniques which enable higher productivity. Meditation is only only for those who are spiritually inclined, but it is also immensely powerful and practical for anyone who wants to improve their productivity.  As always, when we talk about meditation, we Master Choa Kok Sui’s Meditation on Twin Hearts as a starting point for beginners.  The meditation is simple, yet extremely powerful. There are of course several other meditations which are taught within the school.

In addition to boosting your vitality, meditation techniques can also optimize mental functioning. According to research, people who meditate even in small doses can remodel the electrical patterns of the brain that can help optimize mental functioning. Jeff Tarrant, Ph.D. and Neus Raines, Ph.D., found that the experienced meditators had significantly more gamma brain waves (30-90 Hz) and a Harvard study used MRI scans to document how Meditation rebuilds the brain’s grey matter in 8 weeks. An increase in gamma brain activity enable people to “get in the zone”. “In the zone” is an expression to describe a state of consciousness where actual skills match perceived requirements perfectly. Most professional athletes claim that once they are in the zone it increases focus and attention that allows higher level of performance. People who meditate regularly often report that they are able to get more done in a shorter period of time.

Meditation also brings about improvement in memory recall, sensory perception, ability to synthesize information, and more focused attention (in addition to a feeling of happiness as well as more joy and peace). Meditations also bring about stress relief, lowering the blood pressure, preventing aging and correcting sleep patterns. Early research results showed decrease heart rate and respiratory rate by 15-20%, significant muscle potential measurement by EMG indicating muscle relaxation and positive skin conductance. With neurohormones and neuropeptides, this showed increased melatonin in serum of up to 300% and serotonin levels after Meditation on Twin Hearts. Melatonin has been noted to correct sleep-wake patterns and prevent aging. In short, meditations can have a positive and dramatic impact on personal productivity.

If you are a working professional, a businessman, or homemaker; meditation can really help you breeze through the day. We are willing to bet that once you start meditating regularly for a few weeks to a couple of months, you will be so accustomed to the increased sense of vitality, you will wonder how you lived without it for so long.  You will see and understand exactly why it is essential to your well-being.
